Both course options contain the same material, but the instructor-paced option includes due dates to help keep students on schedule to complete each level in one school year; a mid-semester progress report; email notification if the student is falling behind; an optional live Zoom meeting at the end of each module (8 modules in Level One and 10 modules in Level Two); and two one-on-one help sessions per level. (Help sessions for self-paced and additional help sessions for instructor-paced are available for a discounted private-tutoring rate of $15 per half hour).
The self-paced course is a good fit for students who are self-motivated or whose parents are willing to help keep them on pace. The self-paced course may also be a better fit for a student who plans to work at an accelerated pace to finish more than one level per school year.
Students who need the motivation and accountability of due dates may find that the instructor-paced option is a better fit. The instructor-paced option also includes optional live Zoom meetings that the students may attend about once a month (at the end of each module) to review material, ask questions, and play review games.
